The Internet is still in its infancy. Consider 15 years ago, did any of us truly understand how our lives were going to change from that time leading up to the present day, let alone in those early days did we even know what a web URL was?
Now many of us use the Internet every day whether it be to search for information like the latest TV listings or to buy something. Whatever we are doing one thing is sure and that is that the website we are looking at contains Google ads. Whoever invented this program has my congratulations!
There's been many times when I clicked on a Google ad thinking it was just another link on the site, not only have I left the site I was reading but someone somewhere has made some money out of the activity.
Having said that, I've also noticed a change in the profile of advertisers. In days gone by, it was traditional sellers of goods who were advertising, effectively looking for a web presence and a platform to transition from a regular traditional business. Nowadays I think the ads are more opportunistic, for example: 'Make $25,000 in a month, click here for your route to financial freedom'
Have you ever clicked on one of these ads? Well maybe you should, read all about how to do it or as much of the salesman will tell you before you are obliged to buy a product. At what point have you backed out? Or have you gone ahead and bought the product?
I guess a more pertinent question is do these products actually work? Well I have to say I haven't tried one but I have read a lot about them and this is my simple conclusion
- Do they work?.....Maybe
- Will I buy one?.....No
These schemes are based on the viral concept. In other words you have to be very lucky in how you apply that knowledge that is imparted in the scheme, it may be possible to earn $25,000 in the month but for sure if it does happen one month it won't happen the next month.
Ask yourself a question, why is somebody selling this information? The answer is quite simple, it's because they can make more money selling the information that they can applying the concept that they are trying to sell. Think about it.
I'd like to consider myself relatively successful at making money on the Internet, after all I get a check every month that covers my costs so I can live the life that I want with financial independence. To get to this point however as being five years or hard work, pleasant work, but hard work.
I use a process to build a successful online business called SBI! It works. It explains not only how to build a website, how to get people to visit your website, it also explains how to make money but it is not a get rich quick scheme. It's a bit like the hare and tortoise, slow and steady wins the race, and in addition there is a prize at the end.
So in summary, can you get rich on the Internet? The answer is yes
Can you do it quickly? The answer is maybe, but for a short period and it is risky.
Can you do it slowly? Yes, and it is sustainable in the long term.
By all means try your hand at Internet marketing and I wish you well but if I can offer one piece of advice it's quite simple and it applies both online and off-line. If it looks too good to be true, then it probably is.
